TIOGA, Texas (KXII) — A semi truck hit a pickup truck hauling a horse trailer, and two other vehicles in a chain reaction wreck Wednesday at Highway 377 and Buck Creek Road.
Two people suffered serious injuries according to officials at the scene, but were conscious when they were taken to the hospital.
The prize-winning horse in the trailer died.
“We had a vehicle turning east bound, and this 18-wheeler right here was southbound. and apparently there was some confusion, and he struck the back end of the vehicle which forced it into the north lane of traffic,” Tioga Police Chief Curtis Maycomb said.
Police said it’s too early to what exactly caused the crash.
Athens, TX : Woman dies in wreck on may, Tuesday 30th 2017
A 21-year-old Murchison woman died in a one-vehicle crash on Farm-to-Market Road 279 near Tyler on Tuesday afternoon.
The victim was identified as Austynne Brooke Roberts.
Texas Department of Public Safety reports said troopers responded at about 2 p.m. to a wreck in Smith County, six miles west of the city of Tyler. According to information from the preliminary crash investigation, Roberts was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt, traveling west on FM 279 when the wreck occurred. The vehicle went off the roadway to the right, causing the driver to overcorrect to the left.
DPS Sgt. Jean Dark said the driver lost control of the vehicle, which ran off the roadway, and struck a tree. Roberts was pronounced dead at the scene by Smith County Justice of the Peace Precinct 3 James Meredith. Her body was taken to Lighthouse Professional Services funeral home in Tyler.
The wreck is still under investigation by DPS.

A man died after being extricated from his vehicle following a multi-vehicle wreck on the Northeast Loop Monday.
Police responded to calls about the multi-vehicle collision about 11:55 a.m. The wreck occurred in the eastbound lanes of the 2000 block of Northeast Loop 820 near Mark IV Parkway, a news release from Fort Worth police said.
Police saw Shannon Allsup, 52, of Fort Worth, was trapped in his vehicle and he was extricated by first responders. Allsup was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital where he was later pronounced dead about 12:35 p.m., according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
DALLAS, TX : Dallas police officer hospitalized after crash on Monday, May 29, 2017
A police officer was taken to the hospital for treatment after colliding with a white pickup that forced his vehicle into Fivemile Creek at Pecan Grove Park, according to published reports.
Passing bystanders rushed to help the officer following the crash, WFAA reported. The officer was awake and talking prior to being taken to Methodist Dallas Medical Center for treatment on Monday, according to Rebecca Lopez, WFAA reporter. The officer was listed in critical condition, a news release from Dallas police said. The wreck occurred about 2:15 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the 3100 block of South Westmoreland Road near Kiest Boulevard, a news release from Dallas police said. The pickup, a 2007 white Chevrolet Silverado, was traveling west in the 3300 block of West Pentagon Parkway and failed to yield the right of way, and then collided with the patrol car.
The impact caused the patrol car to leave the roadway and fall into the creek below, the release said. The suspect, possibly an African-American man, left the location and officers in the area are searching for him, the release said.

Two men are dead and one woman is injured after a rollover crash near Cypress Station on Sunday, Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
A man was speeding away from a marked Sheriff’s Office patrol car on the North Freeway at about 6:30 a.m. Sunday, trying to avoid detention, the agency said.
He allegedly lost control of the car after exiting the freeway at Hollow Tree Lane. It struck a drainage ditch and rolled in the air several times. The driver, identified as Luis Renato Rios, and a front passenger both flew out of the car and died of their injuries at the hospital.
A female passenger in the back seat was not seriously injured, according to the sheriff’s office.
HEDLEY TX — The Texas Department of Public Safety was called to a two-vehicle crash on US-287 in Donley County, resulting in the wrongful death of a juvenile.
At approximately 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Katherine Monroe, 43, of Hedley TX, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier eastbound on US-287, approximately one mile west of Hedley, according to DPS reports. Erika Roberts, 34, of Amarillo, was driving a 2016 Jeep Renegade eastbound on US-287 directly behind Monroe. When Monroe slowed her vehicle to turn left at the crossover, Roberts failed to control her speed and crashed into the rear end of the Cavalier.
The back seat passenger in the Cavalier, identified as 12-year-old Allison Monroe, of Hedley, was pronounced dead on scene by Donley County Justice of the Peace Pam Mason, said Sgt. Cindy Barkley, DPS spokesperson.
Katherine Monroe and the 10-year-old female front seat passenger, of Anson TX, were air-lifted to the hospital with life-threatening-injuries.
Roberts’ vehicle caught fire after the crash. She was able to get out of the vehicle. Roberts was not injured.
All occupants involved in the crash were wearing seat belts. The road conditions were dry and no other vehicles were involved, Barkley reported.
HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS – Witnesses say a red light runner is to blame for a violent crash that sent three people to the hospital late Thursday.
Around 10:30 p.m. a male pickup truck driver with a female passenger was traveling southbound on Meadowhill going to 50 to 60 mph, witnesses told Harris County Deputy Constables. The driver is accused of running the red light and slamming into an SUV traveling on FM 2920.
Life Flight took a 22-year-old female passenger in the pickup to the hospital in critical condition. The 28-year-old pickup driver and the female driver of the SUV were taken to the hospital in serious condition.
Deputies said they would evaluate the driver responsible for the crash to see if charges should be filed.

A woman was hospitalized Thursday after a four-vehicle crash in the Northeast Side that occurred when a driver pulled out into oncoming traffic, according to police at the scene.
Officers and paramedics responded to the crash around 8:40 a.m. near the intersection of Nacogdoches Road and Bell Drive, near the entrance to the El Dorado subdivision.
An officer at the scene said the crashed began when a woman driving a Chevy Avalanche pulled out of the subdivision into oncoming traffic, possibly because business advertisement signs blocked her vision.
