One person died and two people injured near Ford Park

One person has died and two people have been transported to local hospitals after a multiple vehicle crash on I-1o near Ford Park this morning.
Preliminary reports indicate that the driver of a Dodge pickup truck towing a trailer failed to control the vehicle’s speed and crashed into a mid-sized commercial vehicle that was stopped in the outside eastbound lane of 1-10 for an earlier crash.
The impact of the crash then caused the commercial motor vehicle to rear-end a Chevrolet pickup truck.
The driver of the Dodge truck was pronounced dead at the scene.
The drivers of the commercial motor vehicle and Chevrolet pickup truck were transported to a local hospital.
The extent of their injuries is unknown.

The Texas Department of Public Safety has urged drivers to take caution on I-10 near Ford Park after a fatal car crash this morning.
The crash between a tractor truck semi-trailer and passenger vehicle occurred in the eastbound lane about a mile west of Ford Park near Major Drive at approximately 7:30 a.m., according to a release from the department.
Traffic is being diverted onto the service road at the Major Drive exit.
Drivers should expect long delays and are urged to seek alternative routes.

A Lubbock woman was injured following a crash involving a semi-tractor trailer south of Shallowater on Tuesday morning.

At about 11 a.m., first responders were called to the intersection of FM 2641 and FM 179 after a semi-tractor trailer driven by 68-year-old Randy Alexander of Sundown reportedly crashed into a Ford Expedition as both traveled southbound on 179, according to Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. John Gonzalez. Alexander reportedly failed to yield the right of way to the Expedition causing the SUV to roll several times.
