Two injured, horse killed in crash

TIOGA, Texas (KXII) — A semi truck hit a pickup truck hauling a horse trailer, and two other vehicles in a chain reaction wreck Wednesday at Highway 377 and Buck Creek Road.

Two people suffered serious injuries according to officials at the scene, but were conscious when they were taken to the hospital.

The prize-winning horse in the trailer died.

“We had a vehicle turning east bound, and this 18-wheeler right here was southbound. and apparently there was some confusion, and he struck the back end of the vehicle which forced it into the north lane of traffic,” Tioga Police Chief Curtis Maycomb said.

Police said it’s too early to what exactly caused the crash.

One person killed in Kyle

KYLE, Texas (KXAN) — Kyle Police say Interstate 35 has reopened following a deadly crash Monday night involving a semi and a moving truck.

San Marcos Hays County EMS says the crash happened around 6:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-35 near Yarrington Road. STAR Flight was called to transport one patient to the hospital.

Kyle police say the 18-wheeler was hit from behind by the moving truck as it was slowing and pulling over to the shoulder.

One man in the moving truck was killed in the crash. Another man in the truck has non-life threatening injuries, while the driver of the semi was not hurt.

The road re-opened around 2 a.m.
